ENERGY IN MOTION DAYS
Welcoming the Spirit of Seasonal Change A wonderful chance for you to attend four workshops, spread out over the whole year, each of which will be celebrating and welcoming the coming Seasons , enabling us to experience and understand our own spiritual energy link with the Spirit of Mother Nature in her varying forms. The workshop will consist of controlled breathing exercises, flowing sequences to move the “chi” and physical movements and meditations to ground ourselves. All exercises will be specifically suited to the season in which we are working.
The Chinese Five Element theory will be brought into the sessions, to further enhance our understanding and show us how to bring about the balance of Yin and Yang within our complex body systems, so that we can align ourselves with more ease with every change our seasons bring us. What you can expect... From White Cranes to Warriors… “I'd been meaning to get along to one of Lynne and Maria's reknowned Balance Your Energy days for a while, and on a sunny but particularly fresh and blustery day in March I finally made it to Upton Village Hall. I must confess I was a little apprehensive beforehand. I have been attending one of Lynne's weekly yoga classes for several years and found it addictive, but have never attempted Tai Chai – although I had a vague idea that it was what Helen Mirren and her friends were often seen doing on a hill, in Calendar Girls! But immediately from walking through the door of the venue I relaxed and started to enjoy myself, amongst the bustle of ladies (and a few gentlemen!) enjoying tea (everything from Yorkshire to Green tea!) and choosing their “pitch” for the day. The ambience was just lovely and what particularly impressed me was how both Lynne and Maria were good at giving enough guidance for those who had never attempted one or other art before, but at the same time making sure that the more experienced members of the group could stretch themselves as suited them. The yoga sessions and Tai Chi sessions were interspersed throughout the day with occasional breaks for refreshments, lunch and a good chat! In one session Lynne took us through some traditional Yoga movements known as Warrior stances, in which we faced our fears and felt stronger; and, in another session Maria taught us a sequence known as The White Crane – a very graceful movement which was indeed seen in “Calendar Girls”. At about 4 o'clock I emerged from the hall feeling light of foot, very mellow, optimistic about the world and ready for just about anything life could throw at me! Which in these times of doom and gloom in almost everything we see and read is a very special place to be.” Sally (Accounant, Age 43yrs) |
